The few people who think other people should not complain about car shows or cruises most likely have never worked on their own cars and busted their knuckles to restore a car, most of us take pride in our rides, and when they get completely ignored its almost like a slap in the face, I have judged cars before, and I check over every vehicle that i`m judging, the only cars I have walked past were the cars that were being judged by other judges. Most of us can care less about a $8 plaque or trophy, all they look for is a fair shot at 1st, 2nd, or 3rd. what a boring world it would be if people were not allowed to express an opinion.

Well isn't the canned answer" it's a sport and people should just be happy to mingle,an award is just somthing extra"
I have always been a proponent of doing what I say. If You're going to run a show, do it right without changes in mid stream. Everyone gets treated like a best buddy.
Every one is entitled to an opinion....unless expressed on the N@a@Z@I net

I try never to complain, becasue I feel that i am lucky to be in a show. But, and you always get the but, you need to be treated fairly. With that said, if your going to detail your car, then sit at a show, you can spend 20 hours just there easy, and to just be passed on isn't fair. All people think they need is a fair shake, thats it. Everyone knows when they are in a show how their car stacks up, and can place the awards, well most anyways. If your going to spend 20 hours and 20 bucks, I think you have the right to complain, if your not happy. Lets face it, almost every show promoted in wny reads one of teh other forums, the way people feel should be promoted, not kiss JM azz fest. just me.

i saw the post last night also, I never been to the Moonan shows. I don't understand the "grow up" and "complaining" post. I don't know if i owned a store I never tell my customers that, same with if i had the site, I wouldn't tell anyone that, I would go into their disscussion further, ask them more details. At my job I get people that need tech advice, I love to tell them "stop complaining". But I be without a job. Forums go on because of the crowd, understand that people that are not in agreement will add more veiws/post. Like If you started a thread and everyone just typed, agree...that thread would die. there are a ton of forums in wny, isn't a one horse town anymore.

You shouldn't feel lucky to be at a show You paid to enter. They have an obligation to give You your moneys worth. If a show is crap...then speak up and don't go the next year. Alot of promoters are thin skinned and don't want negitive waves even when it's obvious they F@#cked up. Alot of people are reluctent to speak up,when indeed, they should.
Look what happened to Me earlier in a post about Hartland...I was A$$H0led and told not to come..wasn't wanted...spoke My opinion and got whacked...course that guys opinion doesn't hold water as far as I'm concerned.

Lucky because my car is too new to be in it, i am actually impressed when people come and talk about it, or some of the "always win" best of show people come over and say good job. I go to hang out with friends, the show sceen well i think is going to be far and few for me anymore. i might even go to shows outside the area, for a change.

My first FI show I didn`t get anything with my 53 ply but at least I was judged fair, the guys judging my car did a good job they knew what they were looking at and I knew what I needed, I never complaned about that show because It was a fair chance, and the judges even spoke to me and said it was a nice car, I think thats what makes a good show.

I guess what I don't understand is if people don't like a show or the way it is run, why keep going back to it?

The only thing I can guess is they think it will change and get better next year some shows do and some don`t

I understand everyone is entitled to go to any show and can state their opinion of that show, but to go year after year and still complain about it, I don't get it. Maybe you are right Ray, they might think it will get better.

Myself personally, I don't go back. I got pissed at the caz show 2 years ago and haven't been back. (walk by judging ) The Gratwick crew pissed me off when they handed that guy 5 awards for the same car 3 years ago......haven't been back there either. Youngstown also has 2 shows.......the one in the park is OK, but the one they have along Main St. I wasn't too impressed with the year we went........haven't been back since. I don't think they have that any more but I may be wrong. I will say this though.....anytime I did give a show I was dis-enchanted with another chance I was only sorry once more. Usually things don't change. After a while you get to know which ones are just friends giving friends trophies. You can't always blame the promoters though, sometimes you can have a really nice car at a participant judged show and if nobody there knows you then no votes will come your way unless some people really like your car. Some of the south towns shows are really bad like that......I remember one we were at by a fire hall out by kissing bridge.......the awards ceremony was secretly held inside. We found out as everybody was leaving a half hour early. There's a lot of car clubs around here guys, I think we all know by now the ones where the funny business goes on. That's what's nice about car websites like this one.......word travels fast, good or bad, when you can tell it like it is.

That's another one........we went in '03 and haven't been back since. Just friends giving friends trophies. If I want to hang out with friends, I'll go to a cruise night.

I don`t like to slam a brother fire companies event but they never make any improvements, maybe I have spoken to the wrong person, but I made a few recommendations to them, they seem to like it the way it is
