....even had a buick......but the one convinced me it was a comfortable ride;short on performance...... Tom, Buicks are rare animals. You have to know what you're doing or else you will have a slouch. Things that most mechanics don't understand how they work fall out of adjustment. And rebuilding engines that are more than just a funny looking chevy takes knowledge and experience that people who aren't really into them could understand. Everytime I have machine work done, they screw it up. Even Northeast machine. Case and point......go to a tranny shop and ask them about a Buick switch pitch turbo 400 transmission. 90% of the time the answer you get will that YOU having been smoking the funny stuff. The fact is that these trannies have DUAL STALL SPEED TORQUE CONVERTERS. They ALWAYS fall out of adjustment, and driving one all the time in low stall of course the car will have no balls. Mine stalls at 2000 or 2600 RPM, depending on whether I'm in LOW or HIGH stall. Usually this changes around 1/2 throttle. If I disconnect it, my car has no guts and will be unable to use the benefit of the high torque the Buick engine makes. You can get aftermarket ones to match your cam with an even higher stall speed. These are not LOCK UP converters, they are DUAL PITCH and were only used for a few years. Also, if the electric wire down to the tranny goes dead, they will shift way too soon, again making a slouch. from the factory, mine shifted at 4,400. I reprogrammed it to shift at 5,300 and man, what a difference when the motor is allowed to make full power before it shifts. I haven't met a tranny guy yet that even knows about this SP thing or even cares to admit he doesn't. There's a lot more, I won't get into it here, but I hope you get my drift. You're a Mopar guy. ;D

I'm thinking of changing our boring smiley selection. I just don't want to screw up and shut down the whole forum!

I'm worried about the spyware those websites can put on my hard drive. My son keeps this thing going for me and I got yelled at the last time.
