Hey i have a muscle car lol. that what the insurance companies are saying and that a good thing. I been quoted thru three different companies for insurance of a classic/muscle car. they are all 175 or lower a year compared to my allstate this is pretty amazing for me. I was wondering if anyone has any one has any dealings with Grundy's, Northeast Classic Auto Insurance, or Classic Automobile Insurance Agency, Inc. What should I be looking for, I just always think you get what you paid for so I am weary or this lol. limitations is 6000 miles a year, has comp and collision, and must be garaged, all these is just easy to do for me, i think i put 1100 miles on this year. Ideas?

I use American Collectors Insurance. I pay around $625 for 10 cars on the policy. Annual mileage is 2500 I beleive. Never did clarify if that mileage was "per car" or not. I did have discussions about covered uses of the car as I drive a collector car on vacation to a major show once or twice a year, and it is covered. I did have one claim about 5 years ago. got caught in a hailstorm on the way home from a show. $1850 worth of damage according to their adjuster. My estimate from my guy was $1800. They send out an adjuster if the claim is over $1500. One thing to watch is stated value. If you claim your car is worth $25,000 they will gladly accept the premium for that price. If it is wrecked and they send out their adjuster and finds it is a trashed out bondo wagon, they will not pay that amount as they can claim you mis-represented the vehicle. Though decent cars are going up in value every year. The car you insured for $10,000 may be worth $25,000 now..........so keep up with values.
One more thing about insurance. If someone totals your car in Wal-Marts parking lot, you better be able to prove there was a show, cruise, or club activity there. Same thing goes if you hit a deer at 7:00 AM on a weekday, remember, you are not covered when driving to work!

I have other car I drive to work, my mustang has been in a garage sitting. It goes to cruise nights and shows. I drove to work once this year in it, I just find it easier not driving it, less time to detail, then to drive it to work, come home clean it up and drive out with friends to a cruise. Just me.

I've actually driven all of my collector cars to work. Only way I can take them for inspection is to leave from work and drive them there. Not enough time to go home and then head out to get them inspected. I work in Batavia, Live in Gasport, get my cars inspected in Akron.........

We also use Hagerty. We had such problems getting anyone to cover the Vega but Hagerty did! If you are looking for a local agent who deals with Hagerty check out Stange Agency on East Felton in NT.

That is the only thing holding me back is the limited coverage, I have to read on it some more.
