As some of you may have heard by now, Jimmy B's has closed. Yeah, Jimmy was an a-hole himself, and he ran the cruise into the ground. But to me, 17 years at one location for a cruise night is a very good run. I certainly hope Nancy J can find another gig for Tuesday nights. I certainly liked Jimmy B's better than downtown.
Rumor has it, the church is buying the place, maybe they'll run a cruise? Who knows...........
That location always was the biggest for cruisers........

I think the church would rather have a bingo night, or garage sale then a cruise. I heard that on rice night they were on the phone with the cops all the time lol, at rice night. Jimmy had a good run, I only went a couple of times but seemed like it was always packed for years. I heard of Jimmy's going out/for sale for last two years, I was surprised it lasted this long. But overall I say he had great sucsess with this cruise.

Jimmy B's was THE CRUISE at one time. I think another problem Jimmy B's experienced was that the cruise night scene has grown so much in this area over the past few years. There are so many choices every night of the week. Back in the day Jimmy B's was the only cruise night in the Lockport area. Now there are two cruise nights within a stones throw of each other on the same night. I also think it hurt Shred and Ragan's cruise at the Summit Park Mall. KS Auto has an excellent cruise on the same night. I like cruise at the Summit Park Mall at first. But the quality of the cars diminished drastically due to other cruises being to close on the same night. It's is definately a tough gig for the cruise night directors now a days. However as a cruiser, it definately gives you more options.

One of the big problems is everyone is getting into the act. Yeah, choices are good. I liked Jimmy B's not because of Jimmy B, but because of Stevioe and Nancy, and because the best cars came from miles around as it was the biggest and the best.
A lot of other cruise nights are good for various reasons. Some just suck and don't become much. Mostly due to limited parking, or competition. But I have also see them fail due to the sponsor expecting too much from them. Yeah, they can be a draw, why would anyone sponsor one and not expect an increase of business. But some of them take a lot to get going.
