The stock 64 to 66 barracudas(formula s) had a single exhaust with a rectangular tip out the back...one tip...(one side). The tip cannot be found anymore and I bet people would pay a ton for it if found. The choice of which one is yours of course...stock look or performance...True duals would let the engine breathe better. I never liked the single exhaust look or even the new stuff with both pipes on one side. I'm a true dual exhaust guy. I had a 64 barracuda with a 273..2bbl and as I remember, the exhaust was out the passenger side, I believe the formula was on the driver's side.

I don`t like the single look either but if I get this factory pipe at a low cost I have to think about stock, if it goes on ebay for over $100 I might as well go with the duel exhaust as planned, my tail pipe hanger is on the driver side, so I thats where my tail came out.

dual would be the way, cars breath and sound better, Y pipe would be cool to have, just put it on the sid if you get it, for future use lol.

on the 65 you can`t tell from the vin number if its a formula S, maybe it was and someone changed the intake?? I don`t have the Formula S badges on the fenders, my best bet would say no it isn`t a formula, but my tail pipe is on the drivers side

Buy the pipe and hang onto it. If it is like the Y pipe for the old 318 poly it is such a hard bend for clearance no-one can custom bend it, needs special tooling that no-one has. Duals are good, and most people don't know what is stick and what is not on these........you're not going for platinum certification are you......

Restore out of the love for the car..........Budget? Since when has anyone ever restored anything under budget? Why did I stick money into a 62 Valiant 4-door with a 6?
I know you got less for the Cranbrook than you had into it.........waaaaaaay less most likely. Wish I could have bought it.

Swi, the Cranbrook was fun to get looking 1/2 decent, it is a rodney dangerfield car, never gets respect, lol I had to sell her needed cash to complete th 65. believe me I would of never sold her other wise, I`m sure she will stay local and be at many shows and cruises, who knows I may buy her back!!!

Ray. I really liked the Cranbrook. Until I met you this past year at the wnycarclubs super cruise at Gratwick Park in NT, I had never even heard of such a car. I like quizing some of my uncle's and in-laws about the Cranbrook. Nobody has ever heard of it. I think that is one of the reasons I really liked the car. It was UNIQUE!!!

I know what you mean, how much "respect" you think the Corvairs get........ The Cranny was a standout car, sure it will be around ........and I thought you had it better than halfway decent..........

I think that "cranny" was nice, straight, done well with a good pin stripe theme. It was restored to stock and performed well. It didn't have a stereo/strobes/TV so it couldn't compete with the yups "r" us crowd.
