what is all this crap about not having new cars at shows...I believe a true enthusiest enjoys the revolution of the old cars and how they transformed into the new styles...look at the cars that are still around....mustangs, vettes, and now they want to bring back the challenger , GTO, etc..so are you saying you dont wants these at car shows??? yes , I prefer the older cars , ( I also have a 57, and a 66 along with 2 new ones)...but dont be putting down anyone and their cars, to them that car is their love, dont necessarily approve of all the tuners, but that is this generation..I am sure our parents werent crazy about the dragsters, etc back in the 70s, but who cares...just enjoy the car you have & who cares if you win or lose!!!

Hey, you got no arguement from me. As a person who has promoted cruises and shows I feel there is room for everyone....... But the arguement always comes up about someone with a PT Cruiser etc. taking up the spot a street rod should be in. then again, as long as I have been in this hobby, I find that no matter what you do, someone will complain.

I`m behind him 100%

Most kids buy tuners for a couple reasons, Insurance on a vette, mustang, camaro, gto or others is about triple what they would pay for a civic. Its harder to drive a rwd car in the snow, all season, be it old or new. Its not like the tuner generation isn't going to own a classic, or a rwd american car in the future, just now its impossible when your only going to have one car. I asked a couple import groups and that was the responce I got. New Old debate, I can see both sides.

Who and what got bashed It's always the same new crap argument by the new crap promoters. If the new crap is ok to go into a "CLASSIC CAR SHOW" then why aren't the all buick, all mustang, all corvette shows, etc challenged and ruined also. ALWAYS argueing the " TRUE enthusiast promotes all types of cars" So this is to mean that the pure old iron owner's are narrow minded and not fit for the hobby....CRAP. As said before...start an all new cruise...see how well it goes...old iron won't horn in, allow the same courtesy for the old iron car cruises; without old iron, there'd be no cruises, shows.

yes good points, but what about the kids who are into cars but can`t afford a classic do we tell them to stay away from the old iron? at one show my daughter was told she couldn`t enter her 89 Chrysler Lebaron rag top because it was to new, since then she has a vary bad opinion of all shows.

Well, I didn't barge in with My 66 ragtop at JaFaFa's and IF the kids/middle age/oldsters are true car people they would want to see the classics. I couldn't afford a blower or hot engine/paint in the sixties. My cars were mostly stock and I didn't try to belong where I didn't.
Shows were for hotrods with modded engines/paint/body design...not intended for stock cars with payment books.

I think the tuner generation are into different old iron also. Some are into the 80's Gn/montes/5.0 stangs, and there are a ton into the auto cross cars that have no need for a old iron car for the fact that they don't handle. So i think cars from the 80's are more appealing for these people. Remember kids that are in UB that are into cars might be 18-20 years of age, this means that cars that are old to some of them are from 1985, around their birth years, times they are a changing. How many classic car shows are left??? Or even Classic car cruises? I just see car show, or cruise night. I be honest if it was posted that it was a classic car show, I might go to it, but without a car, just me. If its a car show, with classes for all, what the FFFF is the big deal??? It really dosn't matter what you did in 1980 with your 1966, times are different, ideas are different, things change. What if I told you that car shows and cruise night Call me and email me to attend their car cruise or show??? This is what dosn't make sense, because these cruises are about three years old and allowed new cars in, does this mean that the owners started a cruise to allow the new, if so they started a new cruise, or maybe a cruise for all. Its the owners CHOICE of what is what is permitted, not mine or yours, it is a persons choice to go to a certain show. So if a person starts cruise, or helps some body with a show that has classes for new cars, and they want new cars who are you to say what is permitted and what is not?? This is what dosn't make sense, its not your show, so just don't go, do all the name calling you want, but it won't help your point.+ I am seeing a trend, old "classic" only cruise nights like jafafa, Rookies/Jimmyb's, street nationals,Pat's on Sheridan all went away, maybe they just don't produce the cash or attendence,, or maybe people want more. seems like there are a ton of cruises, and shows, what ones are for classic only??? Then ask your self, what shows were classic only that now allow the new cars, nuff said.

So no one went to college in the 60"s We are all born with money to burn and a 57 chevy in the garage. How about the draft back then, Not bitchin but I grossed under 30k for 7 years active duty. That's 30k total, not a year and started a family. When you make 40 bucks every two weeks, even 35 cent a gallon gas is expensive or 300 a year plus for insurance. Can a person buy a 3000 dollar roadrunner on 100 bucks a month ?? We all went through the "want" times unless you're wealthy or wealthy parents. Again the point is missed and flames a long rebuttal. I'm not pickin on anyone or a person's car directly. I don't believe the new crap belongs, and will never change My opinion. AND everyone has there choice. That's why some cruises have stopped or decreased. I don't due shows with new crap. I stay to myself at cruises with the old iron, the few I do participate in. AND I'm not the person who controls cruises or shows. I quit participating in the show My club has because of the new crap allowed. That's MY choice. AND I think the 80's cars are also crap. Detuned junk except for the GN and Mustang. It's Your opinion they are catching on, I don't see it. In the late 60's/early 70's you'd see street rods and customs from the 20's on up to the mid 50's. Where are all these modded cars of the 80's and 90's. If You call bolt on wings/fart cans/hydrallics mods or customs....barf...Buy a new car...take it to a show...so sad...so funny. Maybe a category for most options. This hobby is gradually going to extinction and the new crap backer's are just pouring the fuel on the flames. Enjoy

Ummm ok, there a way to back up your point. They are called car shows, everyone is included. Like they say everything on 4 wheels, maybe somebody should start a cruise cause its seems like there are more then enough for the new. Just remember to call them as you see it, Bennys classic car show, this way the people will know what to bring. You might have the only one around, should do good. I only know of a couple Classic car cruises left, like Buffalo you never change. Buffalo Benny I like the sound of that.
