alot of the shows had hidden meanings like "respect" and fair play. Not kill a cop or steal a car for fun. Also, the comedy shows could make people laugh...and they didn't have to swear.
now it's theft,drugs,murder and get everything as fast as You can today and let te Government worry about You tomorrow.

And my mother did housework wearing a dress and pearls...............
and Dad came home from work wearing a suit and tie and didn't change out of it for dinner.........

I guess it's better than teaching poor sex and violence. In the 50's...we wore our Sunday best for Church and kept them on all day because that was visiting relatives day. I'll take a suit/tie/pearls over most of the pure junk that is on TV. And if that is as "bizzare" as it got....I'll still roll back to the 40's and 50's.......the new millenium has nothing for Me.

and did I forget...Jerry Springer and Mau8ry Povich...now there is some real wholesome Family viewing......controversey in the good ole days was Flip Wilson and the Smother's Brother's. Besides...I'd wear a tie also if I was coming home to pearls and high heels...
