Anybody here get their gas on the rez along rt. 31? There's this place called Gails. Since they opened last spring, they've never had self serve pumps. Always pumped it for you. Any time I didn't tip the worker I got an attitude or a dirty look. Went there today to gas up the Tempo.....they got 3 rows of pumps. First row, closest to the road, is now SELF serve and is labeled 2.37/ gal. The sign on the pumps clearly shows the price and is very easy to see from the road. It appears as if ALL the pumps there charge 2.37/gallon. The other 2 rows have a sign on every full serv pump that reads "tips accepted" and COVERS UP THE HIGHER PRICE of the full service gas. The sign out front is nearly hidden and is very difficult to see as you drive in. It says "5 cents off for cash". Plastered on top of that in handwriting with a marker that is very hard to read from the road.......it does say "self serve". Read at your own risk while driving on that road! You don't notice the difference in price until you have pulled up and the worker has already began pumping your gas. I thought I was paying 2.32 with cash. I actually paid 2.42 because I couldn't read the signs on the pumps that are covered! It's not about the extra buck or 2 they squeezed out of me......it's the principle of the thing. In my opinion, this is dishonest. Isn't it illegal to cover up the price on a gas pump??

I just got off the phone with an inspector from the Erie County dept. of weights and measures.......... DO YOU KNOW....... since the rez is "soveriegn territory"........the law has NO JURISDICTION over these shysters! Unless the business owner signs an agreement with the county, the pumps don't even have to pump a full gallon!! And these people can run their business as dishonestly as they feel like!! He told me Smokin Joe has agreed to abide by the laws of NYS.......and his pumps are inspected regularly. As for Gails.......I'll never go back there again! Sorry for the rant............

I actually knew that. Had an arguement once at one of the Res stations in Akron, 49 express. Subaru was low, lower than I ever had it. Pumped 16 gallons into a 14 gallon tank...........the attendant didn't even want to talk about it........................... I do go to TP Deli for gas. I know the owner Pete Poodry. ................never had a problem there, and you can tell the honesty if you are filling a can.

I actually knew that. Had an arguement once at one of the Res stations in Akron, 49 express. . That place is awful.......one day I got gas there after the Akron cruise. The arse hole attendant dragged his gas hose across the quarter panel of the buick. Super kocky attitude.......I haven't been back there since.

I always pump my own gas in my 65 Ply, also did with my 53 Ply, because with the 53 you had to insert the nozzle in at the right angle, or you will have a gas-o-line bath

One thing I notice with rez pumps........they're either full on or completely off, there's no way to slow down the flow of gas. At least on Smokin Joe's pumps anyhow. I know how you feel Ray, the Tempo likes to puke on me too just before it starts getting full.
