That hill climb is nothing but scary. I guess the driver has to look out for everything: one mistake and it would be all over, the driver would probably be history. Love the really quick gear changes as he takes the engine up to more than a few RPM's. Man, do I love them high reving engines.

Corvairs ARE slow and My opinion is they are right there with the vega/pacer/pinto/JUNK Well, people like Don Yenko saw fit to tweak them for racing, and they do have a long racing history, at places like Watkins Glen and Lime Rock. John Fitch also made a specialty version for road course racing. We had a blast this summer running an autocross at Lancaster speedway as part of the convention. The car in the film is all Corvair powered, but we had plenty of them there with small block chevy motors in them too. There is actually a guy out there who has a radical one set up for drag racing with a modified Vair motor and a stout powerglide transmission that lifts the front end..................

Build a platform and drop any body on it...does that make it the original "fast" car. Tweak, tune anything to go faster and a motorhead with money can make anything faster.

Here's the link to the same guys run at Lancaster Speedway during the Corvair convention there last summer. I ran my Corvair there too, it was a blast! www.youtube.com/watch?v=5a6FzLmEutQAnd true, any motorhead can make anything faster....... Wasn't that what we all did with the musclecars? they were a good starting point too.......................

that Tempio should be entered in shows, thats a winner It's not 20 years old yet......I know my place. As for the future, who knows.......gas is getting really expensive and that car seems to run forever on a gallon of gas!
