How much do you guys usually spend at a show/cruise on 50/50 tickets?
I'm cheap.......I believe that all it takes to win is 1 ticket so why buy multiple arms lengths. ;D

That's what I was getting at.......it's those 50/50 sales that the clubs pay attention to, not so much the quality of the cars. Tom may be right. ;D

'if you go to a show....fun and meeting people is great and a trophy is just extra".....isn't that what ALOT of people have said over the years...or somthing to that effect??
Think about this.....EVERYONE likes to think their car is a winner.....you spend hours before a show prepping/cleaning to show the car..(not including years of labor restoring)...you tie up a day at a non credible judged or participant show and either carp about how bad it was or how nice the day was because you won somthing.....like an awesome thing,....it's a crap shoot...accept it...or don't participate...

Yeah.......and then SOME ^ <--- (that's supposed to be an arrow pointing upwards) people leave early for whatever reason and rely on their buddies to get their trophy for them...........

When you pay the same money everybody else does to show your car, then you deserve an equal chance as everybody else gets to win. $15 for admission is worth the same whether or not you spend more money on extra things, and adding or removing people from an awards list for that reason is bullsnot. It's no wonder I'm so sick of trophy hunting......I can cruise for free and have more fun. Think about it.......for 15 bucks, I can buy an arms length of 50/50's at a cruise night, and still have 10 bucks left over to buy food with. And the spectators at a cruise night always get in for free.......and also spend money if they choose to. You don't have to be a car owner to win a 50/50. And I'd take money over another trophy any day. And I don't have to sit there in the hot sun for 8 hours either. I heard clutch artists were charging $15 a car to show it at their show, and then an additional $7 for each passenger........even if your wife came with you. And also charged spectator admission! That's just a rip off.

I can`t complain sunday was my 3nd show with the Barracuda this year, I got something at the first two, the pinto was in three shows this year, thats if you want to count Shawnee as a show, and the pinto also got 2 awards this year, so I`m done for the rest of the year. The first year my car was restored I was getting something from almost every show, maybe they just found out who the owner is, or some just get sick of it lol

maybe they just found out who the owner is No way.......you talk like you're some kind of outlaw. FGFT shows each have their own reasons for doing things the way they do. Whatever brings in the money is all that matters. I must give credit to Shawnee in one dept.......at least they will give you a reason if you ask. "it was dirty" ....." what, my air filter?" "no, your gas tank" uhhhh..............................................OK Another one is the "good 'ol boys show in the southern tier. Great show.......but they take points off for rust pitting under your hood and trunk lid. But they WON'T take off for dirt. Go figure. I'm starting to learn that anything goes at these car shows, and around here there are just too many "cliques" and car clubs putting on shows.

That's basically what I've done.......unfortunately many the ones I really like the most are far away. Like that one they have in Bradford PA, that's a good one. It's coming up in September.
