The true measure of a man is one who can say he's sorry for wronging another person. Well, I'm sorry for screwing with your posts.........I was only trying to put a humorous twist on something I will never back down on. And while we're on the subject, as I told you to your face Tom, I assumed that the term "turd" was used by the Mopar guys to describe a Plymouth Sattelite, I didn't mean it in an offensive way and you know it. When I saw that guys signature on a Mopar forum that said "home of the turd polishers" I really didn't think this would be an issue. I consider you as one of my best friends Tom and if I can't even trade humor with you it makes me wonder how many beers you have been drinking lately. LOL

your humor is mostly viscious , repititious and not alot is to laugh about. Person's words are their own...they stand behind them if they are a Man and don't need outside interferrence. State your own position...I never had a problem with anyone's opinion....it's theirs.(no matter how messed up it may be) You can battle your muscle car position as long as you care to....to Me it's like the GTO was the first muscle car...I believe both are wrong....Yours is just easier to prove wrong.

No it's not easier to prove wrong.......the muscle class as defined in most of all the shows I have attended uses the criteria that it must be A PERFORMANCE VERSION OF A PARTICULAR MODEL. I no longer care to argue about this subject, and when the opportunity is presented to me to enter my musclecar in a show as such I will do it. If ignorant people who don't agree with me don't like it they ask for a refund and go to another show. As I stated before, I'm secure with my ride and I know what my car is. ;D As for viscious humor Tom.........do you have "issues" now? Maybe you're just a burger boy at heart! LOL ;D

performance version is NOT entirely what the muscle car definition is.......mid size is in that also..plus...why is their always questions when you wish to be in muscle car class....why does everyone else agree it doesn't belong in that class ??...

For those of you who missed what I did......... I changed our word filter so that when Benny typed in "musclecar" the word "Buick Riviera" showed up instead. (well I thought it was funny) LOL I don't think "everyone" else has that position, or else the definition of the class would be "limited to Gto's and Chevelles". Here's an idea Tom........why don't you write in to the AACA and tell them how you feel about this subject? Better yet, maybe you should go over to V8buick.com and post how you feel about this if a good arguement will make you feel better. There's nothing I can do about it, and frankly, I really enjoy the attention my car gets when I put it in that class. ;D

It's YOUR monkey....write them and try to get it off your back...every show you go to you whine about not being allowed in muscle class...when will the light come on..duh...your cars not a muscle car...reality is obvious to most...keep carrying the torch with the other few...oh and the guy in Philly with the mid 14 gs...I wouldn't be bragging about that...real muscle there

TOM, aside from suspension mods, THE CAR IS STOCK! And his best run was 14.0 at the GS nats. Show me another 4,400 lb. car that can do that from the factory with the AC ON! And NO, it's NOT my problem........I like it this way. You are the one who always seems to have a problem with things. Special classes for Camaro's, the "yups" in their Corvettes, or else the special Mustang classes. I think those special classes are a REALLY GOOD idea........... DEAL WITH IT! ;D

every show you go to you whine about not being allowed in muscle class.. Let me set the record straight.........I HAVE NEVER EVEN ONCE BEEN DISALLOWED TO ENTER MY CAR IN THAT CLASS! It's un-knowledgeable show staff or just plain ignorant stuck up show entrants who are afraid of good competition who always seem to have a problem with this. I'd ask for a refund and leave the event if that ever happened. FYI........at the GM show yesterday, I VOLUNTARILY moved into the stock class BECAUSE I DIDN'T WANT TO BE PARKED BETWEEN THE SIDEWALK AND THE CURB ON THE VULCAN EXPRESSWAY!

They don't let you in muscle car at the start because they know your car isn't muscle car category...They change it because they want your money......that's all.......just like the guy at Niagara 3 seasons ago with a 72 LTD..had a 460 in it and demanded to be put in muscle car cat...they took his money and put him there...I was there doing registration..saw it...all's I can say is carry your torch....but like with clowns....people will be laughing at You...

Person's words are their own...they stand behind them if they are a Man and don't need outside interferrence. State your own position...I never had a problem with anyone's opinion..... Funny thing Tom........before I called you a turd polisher, your position on this subject was totally opposite. You even went on that GTO forum with me and backed me up. Back then the Dual Quad Caddy's were in fact musclecars in your opinion. Suddenly the worm has turned. CHOOSE A POSITION AND GET YOU STORY STRAIGHT! "he called me a turd polisher" ...all's I can say is carry your torch....but like with clowns....people will be laughing at You... Let them laugh.....that only shows their ignorance. LIKE I SAID BEFORE TOM, I'M SECURE WITH MY RIDE. I'm not scared to put stuffed aminals in it for the kiddies.... Nor do I give a sh!t if I got a dead bug in my radiator or on my windshield at a cruise night....... I don't feel funny saying that I'm "polishing the turd" when I'm cleaning my car........ I get a rush out it when these jokers open their BIG MOUTHS and criticize what class I choose to put my car in...... And I also don't need to drive around in a stroked and bored sleeper in order to feel as if my car is worthy of being considered what it is. You just enjoy arguing Tom, and the fact is that I enjoy this arguement just as much........... so let's keep going!

at this time the majority has the gto as the first muscle car...I don't agree with that....as the majority goes...you're out......
and what does this mean...lol...you're losing it.."And I also don't need to drive around in a stroked and bored sleeper in order to feel as if my car is worthy of being considered what it is."

Seems like everybody these days has built these cars up from what they could never have been back in the day. You can't tell from the outside, like on your 440, but many guys feel the need to stroke, bore, cam, gear, and huff in order to feel like they are worthy. In a stock Muscle class at a car show, those things don't even matter, in fact they will hurt unless they are factory goodies.
It's the stock tires and stock equipment that counts, a motor that sticks out of the hood to the point the driver can't see where he's going has nothing to do with being a musclecar AS DEFINED IN THE CAR SHOWS.
And I'm NOT losing it........you are you old coot! LOL ;D

I build My cars as I like them Ever since the 60's in My old stompin grounds...performance came before beauty.I still follow that. If someone had a great looking car...it better have a motor to back it up...hence the term was used..."no-go show boat"...no go's were scoffed at .....I can't see My car's outside when I'm driving...but I can see You in My rear view mirror...

Where I come from those who brag about how fast their car is usually are the ones seen in the rear view mirror. Tom, I could not care less how slow or how fast my car is......it is what it is........it's fast enough to whoop a lot of things and for me and that's all that counts. Sure, I could bore and stroke my Nailhead, and I'm sure if I look hard enough I could scrounge up a set of low gears. Maybe even make my car look TOTALLY STUPID by standing it up on the radiator and putting tires on the rear that are 3 times too wide for better traction. Heck, why not go all the way and put on a blower......some forged pistons then I could feed her some booze. Maybe split my driveshaft in half at the same time too. As for the "all show" thing........how many chrome aftermarket gadgets do you see under my hood? NONE.......ZIP........NADA..........NOTHING..........what I have done to mine is simply a mild cam, and I actually LOWERED my compression for cheep gas b/c I don't feel I need to be the fastest. Yep, I built my tranny to crack the tires on full throtle shifts, I think that's cool, but that ACTUALLY SLOWS ME DOWN with stock tires. Do I really care? ........You've never been in a heavy Buick with a switch pitch tranny and dual quads, but that's enough to satisfy me Tom. I don't need to be seen in a Chevelle or a Mopar in order to feel that I "belong" in the musclecar category.

I never felt I needed to belong anywhere as My history has proven that. You must remember, I've driven the 60's cars and with the business I've done in old iron the past 4 decades, I've had the privilidge to drive just about every American car out there. 67 buick gs Riv's or whatever ride nice...corner like elephants...stop like a semi on ice and have starting performance like a chevy 283...their best performance curve is at 60 to 90.....getting their bores Me...plus, you dyno'd the car and had less than 250hp at the wheels...some real muscle there...

You are obviously trying to ridicule my car and pi$$ me off Tom. You simply don't know what you're talking about, that's obvious. I don't give a crap about dyno specs on a dyno run that was done by a person who couldn't even get the machine to give me a torque reading. FYI, MY CAR IS STOCK, and about 250 RWHP is just about all they do. I'm satisfied with that, and I doubt a STOCK 440 mopar would fare much higher at the rear wheels through an automatic transmission. FYI, when I worked at Goodyear, my friend had a 340 Duster 4 speed. When we raced, we were neck and neck up to about 95 when we backed off. And that was with my '66 single 4 nailhead, 3.42 posi, ALL COMPLETELY STOCK but fresh rebuild. I think your 283 comment was just plain ignorant and out of line. You want to make this thread into a "mine is faster than yours" thread and I'm not going there Tom. I've already buried my speedometer at 140, outrun stock Corvettes, Camaros, GTO's and Sattelites just like yours. But I'm not stupid enough to race you if that's what you're leading up to because I know what you have under your hood is not an even match. AND I REALLY DON'T CARE. Who are you trying to impress anyhow? I think you are really carrying on like some kind of a$$hole. As long as you are going to act like a jerk I'd prefer to just ignore your posts. If my remark about "turd polisher" bothered you that much and you are this thin skinned, you just need to GROW UP and think hard about who your friends are. I'm beginning to understand why Johnnyc banned you from rod and piston, you call me viscious but I have never attacked another person's ride like you have just done here. I'm through discussing this subject here.........I'm Nailheadina67 on V8buick, bring it there and see how far you can push your attitude before they ban you. On V8, Mopars are called sh!tboxes so good luck.

I don't think so Tom. You are the one who can dish it out but can't take it, not me. I never picked apart your car, and you know when I used the word turd it was not stated as an intentional insult, and I even apalogized to you in person and on our public forum.
I knew where this was heading the very minute you did your 180 and flipped your position on musclecars. You were just waiting to start sh!t and you know it.
Call what you posted a joke, whatever, you are the viscious one and your arrogance is only superceded by you ignorance.
I guess I'm laughing AT YOU.
End of discussion. ;D
