Welp, look toward what club is running this excursion........and the Shawnee show........isn't any surprise the way the first place winners are all pre-selected and what's left over gets divvied up to whoever is lucky?

Well yeah it wasn`t a perfect show, its hard to have perfect show, not everyone is going to be happy with any show, after seeing the cars I beat I`m happy with third. I will just go home and clean and detail my undercarriage.
My underside was good enough at the Dick Pendleton show for 1st place, but at the Dick Pendleton show T-Birds had their own class, every show has a different twist

Once a show gets that large, meaning over 200 cars. And the sponsoring club is doing the judging, along with volunteers, it gets a bit hard to get things done in a timely fashion. I think the show is good for what it is, and for me its a great place to see cars and take the grandkids. This is my fourth year going and the first time I received an award. My wife is still trying to figure out where to put it. So I was the only stock truck there and got a first place. There just as easily been 20 trucks in the class, sometimes its the luck of the draw. Speaking as one who runs a few shows, I can understand the problems that arise, so I'm a bit more understanding and find no reason to fault them.

You know all this year I have seen questionable awards at many shows I have attended this year....this was just another show that raises questions about what promoters of the hobby are doing. The judges getting awards, the sponsors getting awards, it seems like the everyone takes care of one another, no matter what. Almost to the point of if your not in with these people then you get passed over...Cost to enter is higher, what you get in return is lower...they better fix it quick or many shows will go away as many people are sick of the politics. I think after this year I am retired from these shows...I going out of town from now on, to people I don't know, promoters I don't know and starting fresh..The only way I going to a local show is to support a friend. You know if your going to have a big show, 200 people , you better get everything in place to run it, like opening a walmart with 6 people, its all about management
