I'm certainly on a streak here. Just days after making the decision to get rid of my Jeep (can't afford $100/week in gas), I'm driving in the Daytona when I come to a stop sign at the coner of Hoover and Lockport Rd. Go to take off to cross Lockport when, BAM, nothing, no forward or reverse gears. Seems I snapped the pass. side half shaft, so now I get to have it towed to my buddied shop so we can get it on the lift and assess the damage. Seems I can only keep this car running for about a week or two before something else breaks on it! At least i won't have too far to go until it's a brand new car.

Half shafts aren't bad if you have a lift and an impact gun to get the nut off the axel.

Half shafts aren't bad if you have a lift and an impact gun to get the nut off the axel. I always put a long pipe on the end of the ratchet place against the ground and move the car a bit to loosen the hub nut. also when removing the damper, that crankshaft bolt comes off the same way, jam the extension bar on the ground or frame and just bump the starter, the bolt loosens up quicker then snot.

Getting the axle out wasn't the problem, Just sperate ball joint and remove nut off axle, driveshaft pops right out. My problem is the splines in the intermediate shaft (turbo cars came with an intermediate shaft to eliminate torque steer) were sheered. Unfortunately, an after market part was never produced and I can't find one anywhere. Even Dodge does not have these anymore. I beleive I'm just gonna weld the driveshaft to the intermediate shaft and pray that it works. I've put a post on a couple turbo dodge looking for an intermediate shaft, so we'll see if that works too. Thanks for the help though!

Got the Daytona back ont he road (for now, lol) Ended up just welding the new half-shaft to the intermediate shaft. Works real well, car is tighter than it's ever been. Hopefully this will hold, if not, I found a used intermediate shaft on turbo-mopar.com that the guy is gonna ship to me in the next few weeks, so I'll have a spare.
