Ok, I had to share this one........... Yesterday the wife wanted me to stop at Wal Mart for a few items on the way home from work. I generally go in through automotive, especially since the things I needed are on that end of the store, usually no one ahead of me to check out, not too much trouble parking. Well there was a couple people in front of me in line. While there a mechanic comes up to the girl behind the counter in automotive and hands her a set of keys. Says' "This one is done, you have to get someone to drive it out because I can't push in a clutch because of my bad knee". Girl behind counter says, " "Well who drove it in"? Mechanic says, "Bob did, but he went home for the day, Tim and Frank can't drive a standard". Girl says, "Well, I don't know how to drive one either, I'll have to get someone from another department after I check these people out". Owner of the car, who was sitting there, says, "I can drive it out". Girl behind counter tells him " No sir, our insurance won't allow customers in the service area. Owner replied " Well, at least I know how to drive". Now, maybe its just me, but wouldn't you think it would be a job requirement to work as a mechanic to know how to drive a stick? ? Then it gets better.......... Girl in front of me in line asks about a price for a set of tires for her Nissan Sentra. Girl behind counter goes to computer, asks a few questions, then gets to the question "does it have 15 or 16 inch wheels.?" Car owner replies, "I don't know". Counter girl, without saying a word goes from behind the counter, out the door into the parking lot". After about 3 minutes comes back in and says "There's no Nissan Sentra out there". Car owner replies, "No, its parked in front of the store". Counter girl says, We'll why didn't you tell me where the car was!" Owner says..........."You didn't ask!" By this time I have my hand over my mouth and am shaking uncontrollably with laughter, and have two girls glaring at me....... By the time I left I had tears coming out of my eyes....... Just had to share............

Thats the new type, $8 an hour Mechanic, they can`t get a real mechanic for the wages they pay. You get what you pay for, sad thing is some of these guys really think they are mechanics

I would like to take my T Bucket to walmart for a battery change ;D Under the seat I bet............ When I was 15 I started working at a garage in Akron. The owner really liked me as I was the first pump jocky that did more than sit around smoke cigarettes and drink coffee. I learned to work on cars and was doing a lot of work like brake jobs and shocks at 16. That's where I learned to work on my own cars. We had a few "winners" that worked there for a short time and couldn't figure out where to put the gas half the time.

By this time I have my hand over my mouth and am shaking uncontrollably with laughter, and have two girls glaring at me....... By the time I left I had tears coming out of my eyes....... Just had to share............ More Walmart auto stories My 17 yr old son took his car to Walmart for an oil change. The mechanic changed the oil, called my son to come get the car. When my son got out there, the car was running. The mechanic told my son that the key broke in the ignition, and he couldn't or wouldn't do anything about it. He told my son to get the car out of the way, so he could work on the next car. My son called me and I told him, 'Do NOT move that car', so he didn't. I spoke with the mechanic and he said it wasn't his fault, it was the car, it had that type of problem all the time. I told him he would have to pay for it and I was on my way there. After I left to go up there, the mechanic called his boss. His boss told the mechanic to tell my son to pull the car out of the drive and he would follow him down the road a little bit and he would take care of it and fix it. My son believed him and drove the car. The mechanic did follow him, then waved him to pull over. My son pulled over and the mechanic came to the car and told him that his boss told him just to do that to get him off the property, and he was no longer liable for the car, even though he broke the key in it. I got up there and raised hell with both the mechanic and the boss, and they threated to call the police on me. So they did, and I told him what happened. I also let others waiting to get work done on their car, they should think twice! The police said he really couldn't do anything now because the vechicle was taken off the property! He suggested a small claims court, but now had no proof. I'll never go back. I hope they all read these type of things, they have gotten so tacky, not the old Walmart I remember, who actually cared about their customers.
