I currently have turn-downs and am frustrated with the dirt and dust they kick up. I'm looking for someone who is really good at fabricating and installing custom exhaust systems (GM A-Body) - from header outlets on back including performance mufflers. It would have to be someone able to custom bend pipes if necessary and fabricate pipe hangers. No stainless steel - unfortunately too expensive. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Cole muffler on Transit rd in Lockport did a great job on my '53 Plymouth, they made a tail pipe and installed it for only $60

I had the dual exhaust work on my Cutlass done at Mufflerman 873-0440 on Delaware Ave. in Kenmore across the street from Jim Doyle Ford. They did an excellent job. I take all of my cars there.

while i like the sound that i got from dual exaust from mufflerman on delaware, it lasted only a bit more than 16 months. i drive my van all year so it seen the winter. but you would thing the pipes would have lasted longer. when i took it back to him he gave me a estimate almost the same as the first full pipes. i was thinkin ghe would at least give me alittle break because it didnt last long but no way. so byer beware there. i for one could not go back to a guy that can't even budge a bit after it was his work that didn't last. just my opinion

The problem with "custom" pipe bending is it is not entirely the same as "factory" pipe bending and weakens the pipe. A WNY winter will in short order destroy it. It is also dependant on the quality of the pipe used. I have seen custom jobs fail soon...........but generally not if you keep them away from the salt.

I went there last summer with a simple request. I needed two pipes 16" long to extend my new stainless turbo mufflers to fit....out of STAINLESS. I specifically told them they had to be made out of STAINLESS. I also told him I wanted 304 stainless, they sell 3 different grades. (409, 304, and 316 which is the best) So I get there, pay them for it, and the guy hands them to me and I noticed they were made out alluminum! So I had him make me 2 more in stainless this time. So before giving them to me he tried to charge me more money saying it was more expensive than alluminum.........after I specified stainless in the first place when he originally gave me the price!!! After a brief arguement and my refusal to pay more, I got my stainless pipes for what I was originally quoted. (besides, he would have looked a little funny with a couple exhaust pipes sticking out his butt if he didn't LOL) ;D ......and then when I got them home I noticed he used the cheap 409 stainless. I'll never go back there for anything.

nailhead i can't belive he did that to you. how dumb can you be. once again your only as good as the help you employ. at least stand behind what you do no matter what. He has a great reputation but i think hes living off his legend a little to much. I hope i see someone on here come up with a good muffler guy so i can get mine donr. i wan tto go stainless on mine also. im glad you replied now i know theres three grades of stainless. you learn something new every day and it was a good day. lol. if anyone knows a good stainless guy let me know.

I'll go one step further Jeff.......both 304 and 409 will discolor when they get hot.....316 will not. Had I known that in the first place I would have gotten everything in 316. The guy who sold me my pipes was not honest with me. All I know is it won't rot out.....so what if it's discolored, I just wish he would have told me that. That's what I get for not shopping around a little more. I hear there's a guy in Erie PA that does custom stainless, you should make some calls to the muffler shops around there I'll bet you can find it. I forgot their name. Be sure they use stainless flanges and clamps if you go stainless, b/c unless you ask they prolly won't to give you the lowest price. Be prepared to spend about $900 for your van, maybe more.......especially with duals.

if your happy with a sound and not a guy that takes care of his customers, well then muffler man is your guy. personally i stand behind my work. if it breaks i fix it, not charge more than the first time i did it.

Right on Jeff......we're both businessmen and I see you operate on the same philosophy I do. It's amazing how places like mufflerman manage to keep their customers when they operate like that.

I havn't had no problems with Muffler man, they treat me great. I pulled up Saturday and Paul said don't even shut it off pull on in. They lifted the car and removed the h pipe and installed a new mac h pipe and o2 sensors in 45 minutes. I gone there twice and both times was a pleasure, thats my story I ain't changing it till they make me. It also surprises me that they do a ton of cars, classic tuners, everything and people return. I don't know your situation (always two sides), but mine was always a postive. Just like Jeffs work, I have suggested him to three people, and I would suggest him again. If people do good work for you its hard to beleive the opposite, but every company has screwed up somewhere, sometime.
