oh...they don't want ANY rebuttal or anything that makes sense to support a position. I was banned for only telling a moderator that" if he didn't have a sense of humor, you might as well crawl into a hole and pull the dirt over your head." I did log-on again as Howard Stern and submit My position , but one of the cheerleaders blew it in to the moderators and poor ole Howard was BANNED again.....lol

Rod and Piston is a joke....(my opinion).......for which I was also banned from expressing. They won't allow links to other websites be posted on their cheesey forums (opinion)......their afraid of the competition. They claim that their car show along the river is judged so fairly because it is done by a computer program. It throws out votes for cars that IT deems are "you vote for me, and I'll vote for you" I simply pointed out that I thought it was unfair to the 400 or so entrants who didn't win anything at their show in 2004 to give 6 trophies to one participant. If their computer is so great, why didn't it throw out 5 of the awards out of fairness to other entries? I also don't think it's fair to change a sponsor's choice to something else, unless of course he picked a duplicate entry. AS A SIDENOTE- Both times I entered my car in their show I won a trophy, so I'm not just a whining sore loser. It was out of my respect for the promoters that I kept silent for as long as I did. I don't mind being banned from a place that I feel is run like auswitz.......but I do become concerned when opinions in a public domain not containing foul language are deleted just for the sake of the establishment. These guys are not hobbyists like the rest of us, THEY ARE BUSINESSMEN. They don't care that cars still under factory warranty horn in with the rest of us, just so long as the $$$$ keeps rolling in. I gotta stop now.......here I go again......every time I go here wind up upset.

Great point Joe....they claim to be hobbiest but the money is all they're after...They DO let any new crappola car in as long as the GREEN is there. They are a detriment to what they call a "sport"....sports are betting and money...hobby is sweat and tears.....I'll take the hobby any day...as I have for over 40 years

Too bad for the bann, I thinks its better if people work out the difference, but I guess shut down of communication works better....and guess that the topic and peoples stands weren't going to change, but if you gave the 20 bucks I guess you be still on the site....

Exactly--I couldn't give $20.00 after that crap--I'd been giving in. Yeah they seem to forget the 20 year rule for a classic car over there or 30 for an antique....that's why there is a new class for Performance vehicles......I honestly don't care. I could understand if I was an asshole to them but over their mistake....just funny. People take the internet way too seriously.

I'd rather see an under construction antique than a new car any days. Part of the problem,as I see it, is people are hesitent to bring a car that needs work to a cruise, much less a show, because of the A$$holes who criticize their car. The cruisess were just that, bring your old car and cruise, share info and have a good time looking and getting ideas. Every cruise is turning into a show. Not everyone can do all the work in one season. My opinion is,if it runs and is safe; bring it out and have fun with it.New crap is ruining the hobby, rather than the "sport" the yups net claims it is.

Many of us begin with the motor when we restore a car....I was thinking of doing one up really good and entering it in that class. It could always be brought in on a trailer or something just for display.

I think the reason that class was invented was to invite people with non-completed cars to participate without feeling like they don't belong. It's an easy one to criticize though, and the show promotor has the burden of being fair when there's really no "rules" here.

I like the under construction class, but judging this class can be a nightmare, everyone can say their car is under construction, my 65 Ply I can say is under construction, you can have a fully restored car with a hub cap missing and you can say its under construction, or you can have a car towed in totally apart early stage of restoration, and enter under construction

Have run an unfinished/unrestored class for years at Niagara. Gets hard to "police" it. It was with the intention of having more of a 'driver" class, but sure enough we had a guy with a camaro enter saying he didn't have his stickers on the motor yet. and sure enough we get some unrestored cars that are concours perfect............always somoeone trying to "bend" the rules huh?

Hard to Police. My opinion on this is the promoters are trying to take the easiest way out. IF it's a show you're running, the promoters should state on entries they have "final"say on what class cars belong in and NO refunds after entry. Should be posted very clearly. If soemoene challenges a car,the promoters sort it out. I believe enforcing rules is not done because of the "next year" factor. If someone is placed where they should be instead of where they belong, they might not come back. So other's who don't register their opinion are leaving pissed off and THETY may not return. EVERYONE wants to run a GOOD FAIR show...well...ENFORCE the rules/classes as they should be and there is not reason for arguments. I could go on forever about this....

With The shows I have helped out with, I have had some guys change into different classes, take down for sale signs etc etc, but sometimes we just don`t have the time or man power to do all this.

I'm using this for discussion, but think of this...the people pay the money asked for at time of registration...doesn't this make a promoter morally and legally responsible to ensure the show goes as advertised??...I've been at shows where people have issues but are told the responsible party can't come because they are counting votes or making food. What I'm saying is...IT JUST ISN'T RIGHT
