Benny, thank you for the kudos! The article is actually a very good idea. The wife says she can do a "Once Upon Time " story to make it sound even funnier. That is a great idea! I probably taken up with the REAL OWNER of RPM tonight. That's even a whole other story, about how RPM broke up (but not really) Mark owner of One Stop tried to claim ownership of the mag, that he was only apart of, tried to steal it right from under the real owner, before it even gets off the ground. Now he is trying to hang on to the advertisers money, the thing is, that in the biker world, we don't like to do business with someone who isnt one of us or trying to make a buck off us, and word travels fast. I never even put 2 and 2 together about being banned once I came here....you know this is all really pathetic "All over a flyer" and I got mad because they left orginal flyers from last year's charity bike / my Christmas toys for Tots Event, but pulled This years flyer and said now it costs money? Here is the thing about Charities, BY LAW You have to put on the tickets whether all the proceeds or portion goes to the charities. (One Stop screwed this up on my first run of tickets--YES THEY DONATED--but only provided 1000 of 4000 tickets, now I have to pay for the rest to be printed) Here is how "PROCEEDS" works in defense of some charity event organizers. It is no small feat and does cost alot. If you have an event that costs 20k but only receive 13k in sponsors and pull 7k from ticket sales and donate the balance--than you are still doing good. Some of these charity event organizers, I know will only donate 8 cents on the dollar. But all in all in you sell 30k in tickets and 15k finances the event and 15k is given to the charities, than it is still beneficial and a win win. When you donate less than 1/2 of event though (in my opinion), then you are misleading. The Only WAY it should ever say ALL PROCEEDS is in the manner of you have full sponsorship and donate all ticket sales or the half and half rule like I stated above, if you fund half the event off ticket sales and donate the balance, but if YOU MAKE A PROFIT OFF A CHARITY EVENT--then you are scum. It is alot of time and energy that you can't even right off to pull off these events--but in no way should anyone ever turn a profit on a charity event except the charity.

Example, Miller Hose father`s day car show, yes we have some bills to pay from the show but 100% of the proceeds go to the volunteer company

they have to get up early to spike my coffee, I get it at yellow goose,
BTW I`m boycotting starbucks, when 9-11 first happened they jacked the price of their bottled water up, while everyone else donated water and food to the rescuers. A branch of the coffee chain Starbucks charged New York rescue workers for water to treat victims of the suicide attack on the World Trade Centre.
Ambulance workers were forced to scramble in their pockets for money to pay a $130 bill for three cases of water used to treat victims for shock after the twin towers collapsed.

It was My understanding ALL the profits in the real car shows are donated to the charity the car show is intended for. R & P is the ONLY one I ever saw that claimed a "PORTION" to charity. I understand the PROFIT is what remains after all expenses.
I will/would not support a show that claims to be a Charity event without ALL the proceeds/profits going to that Charity.
I urge other's to spread the word. I hope an article is done. I'd pay to see that.
Whatever happened to FastFreddie. He didn't post much there, but that Guy really got revved up. And of course banned. LOL

I'd love to see an article published that states the facts as they truly are..........what are they gonna do? Delete the article? Or ban people from reading the magazine?

Damn they banned Fasteddy also? I saw his post--and they got bent that "his true feeling showed" -- so much for having a "Public forum Board" -- you can be on our site but never differ in opinion of us --- glad it's a democracy.....Oh and that article will be done, wife is going to write and make sure---there is the similarities clause - "any similarities are of pure coincidence" -- you know like Law and Order does--- to a "real forum board" --I'm sure it could be similar to tons of them out there.

--I'm sure it could be similar to tons of them out there. I have posted on a lot of forums over the past few years, and although some will lock topics or edit posts due to profanity, etc., banning is a very last resort. It is done only after warning the member first. In my sincere opinion, Rod and Piston is the only forum I have experienced so far that bans members soley for expressing an opinion that differs from their own. It is also the only one that will delete any links to other car related websites unless it benefits them. The person with his finger on the ban button over there isn't even a car guy as far as I know. It's all about the $$$$$$$.......Ein Furor doesn't like competition.

the Furor doesn't know a needle bearing from a crank bearing. And that is the bottom line....money....and all the cheerleaders on that site don't realize it. Of course all the forums should be locked on that site because of someone disagreeing with the yups point of view.
