Things must really be changing at Barnes......they charged me less than I was quoted for my parts and did an excellent job.

interested if they try to charge more than quoted..My Son got a real bad time there a few weeks back and I won't do business with them any more either they quoted me $150 bucks, for the tail light housing. I thought that was high, I had my whole front bumper done for $300 last year at Tri-City

I had a bunch orf re-chroming, and polishing done last year. Price was way below what I expected. And he turned borderline parts into show quality.
Ignore their quote and hope for the best.
But don't be in a hurry.

I paid more than estimate was also. Their work is great, but I don't like price switches and attempted intimidation. I spoke highly of them before the incident with My Son. I won't go there now and will urge other's to not .

I`m not waving the flag for Barnes but you have to get the right person, Wolf is good at estimates Beanie is not, he even told me that. They don`t know the exact price because they don`t know it them selfs, the company that actually re chromes the parts gives them a bill, they always estimate high with me, and it usually comes back $50 lower when I get the part

From a businessman's point of view......it's better to quote high and then charge less than the other way around. Just in case....you never know, sometimes unexpected things come up making the cost higher. With the cost of oil changing, what you paid for a gallon of drip last week might be 20% more this week. In the chroming business, I'll bet the cost of those chemicals fluxuate a lot. For example, carb cleaner (I'm talking about the toxic stuff you dunk the parts in.....it'll eat your skin). Last fall I paid $80 for a gallon, the last time I bought some it was about half that.

Has anybody ever used Tripp Plating? I plan on using them for a couple of bikes---I usually use Chrome Pros, but I'd rather give the work to a local guy.
